Official Electric Guitar Giveaway Contest Rules & Regulations

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ATTEND THE FUNDRAISER. A PURCHASE IS REQUIRED TO RECEIVE CONTEST ENTRIES.

The Bill Carroll Foundation ("Foundation") is sponsoring an Electric Guitar Giveaway in conjunction with the IHOP Fundraiser to benefit music education programs.
​
By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and all decisions of The Bill Carroll Foundation, which are final and binding in all matters relating to this promotion.

1. Sponsor
This promotion is sponsored by: The Bill Carroll Foundation.
This promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with IHOP, Facebook, Instagram, or any other social media platform.
​
2. Event Information
Date:
Wednesday, August 26, 2026
Time:
4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Eastern Time
Location:
IHOP
2831 Plank Road
Fredericksburg, VA 22401
Only purchases made during the official fundraiser hours qualify.
3. Eligibility
Participants must:
-
Be present at the fundraiser between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM.

Be at least 18 years of age or have a parent or legal guardian enter on their behalf.

Legally reside in the United States.
-
Comply with all contest rules.

Employees, directors, officers, and immediate family members of The Bill Carroll Foundation may participate only if permitted by applicable nonprofit policies and Virginia law. The Foundation reserves the right to disqualify any entry that presents a conflict of interest.
Void where prohibited by law.

4. How to Enter
Participants will receive:
One (1) contest entry for every $1.00 spent during the official IHOP fundraiser.
Example:

$10.00 purchase = 10 entries

$27.45 purchase = 27 entries
-
$100.00 purchase = 100 entries

Only the pre-tax subtotal shown on the qualifying receipt will be used to determine the number of entries unless otherwise determined by the Foundation.

To qualify:

Attend the fundraiser during the official event hours.
-
Make a qualifying purchase.
-
Obtain your original receipt.
-
Submit a clear photograph or scanned copy of the receipt by emailing it to:

Submission Deadline:
11:59 PM Eastern Time
Friday, August 28, 2026
Late, unreadable, incomplete, altered, duplicated, or fraudulent receipts will not be accepted.
Each receipt may be used only once.

5. Contest Period
The contest officially closes at:
8:00 PM
Wednesday, August 26, 2026
Receipt submissions remain open until:
August 28, 2026 at 11:59 PM EDT
No entries will be accepted after this deadline.

6. Winner Selection
Following verification of all eligible entries, one (1) winner will be randomly selected.
The drawing will occur after all submissions have been reviewed.
The winner will be announced on:
September 1, 2026

7. Prize

The guitar is awarded:

No warranties—express or implied—are provided.

The Foundation makes no guarantees regarding condition, cosmetic appearance, playability, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

The winner assumes all responsibility for:

Proper tuning

Setup
-
Maintenance
-
Repairs
-
Safe transportation

Future care
8. Prize Value
The guitar is donated from the Foundation's educational inventory.
For purposes of this promotion:
The prize has no stated cash or monetary value.
No cash substitution will be offered.
The prize may not be exchanged or transferred.
The Foundation reserves the right to substitute a comparable guitar if necessary.
9. Claiming the Prize
The selected winner must respond within seven (7) calendar days of notification.
Failure to respond may result in forfeiture of the prize and selection of an alternate winner.
The Foundation may require proof of identity before releasing the prize.
10. Publicity Release
By accepting the prize, the winner grants The Bill Carroll Foundation permission to use:

Name

Photograph
-
Video
-
Voice
-
City and State of residence
-
Likeness
for promotional, educational, fundraising, advertising, website, social media, print, television, and future marketing purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law.
11. Winner Social Media Acknowledgment
As a condition of accepting the prize, the winner agrees to make at least one public social media post announcing they won the guitar.

If posted on Facebook, the winner must tag the official Bill Carroll Foundation Facebook page.
12. Verification
The Foundation reserves the right to:

Verify purchases

Verify receipts

Verify identities

Reject altered or fraudulent entries

Disqualify any participant attempting to manipulate the contest
Fraudulent activity may result in permanent disqualification from future Foundation promotions.

13. Limitation of Liability
By entering, participants agree to release and hold harmless:

from any claims, damages, injuries, losses, or liabilities arising from participation in the contest or acceptance, possession, or use of the prize.

14. Taxes
Any federal, state, or local taxes that may arise from receipt of the prize are solely the responsibility of the winner.

15. Privacy
Information collected during the contest will be used solely for administration of this promotion and Foundation communications unless participants separately opt into future communications.
The Foundation will not sell participant information.

16. Right to Modify or Cancel
The Bill Carroll Foundation reserves the right to suspend, modify, cancel, or terminate this promotion if fraud, technical failures, unforeseen circumstances, acts of God, or any other event compromises the integrity of the contest.

17. Governing Law
This contest shall be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located within the Commonwealth of Virginia.

18. Acceptance of Rules
Submission of a qualifying receipt constitutes full acceptance of these Official Rules and all decisions made by The Bill Carroll Foundation regarding this promotion.
