Instrument Donations

Have extra musical instruments laying around that you and your family no longer play? Donate your used guitar, drums, violin, saxophone, flute, clarinet, and more. Your used musical instrument donations can make a big difference in the lives of America’s Musicians whether they have a disability or not. Our Veterans also can benefit from this program.

Your generous donations service the community and individuals wanting to replace their instrument or are renting one and want to have their own. This is on a "need" basis. Please don't request an instrument just because you want one. If we don't already have the instrument you're requesting, we will make every effort to find one for your craft and talent.

Your donations are needed and appreciated! Just fill out the form at the bottom of our home page, tell us a little about yourself and your instrument and we'll try to have it shipped to us (if not too large and heavy) or we'll pick it up if in the State of Virginia!

Adapting Musical Instruments For Disabled Musicians

The Foundation's objective is to remove the barriers to music-making faced by those who have physical disabilities.

For the Bill Carroll Foundation, the primary obstacle is the absence of suitable instruments and the fact that there are extremely few orchestral instruments that can be played without having two fully functioning hands and arms, the need is real. A fact that denies unlimited participation in musical life to those with congenital disabilities and amputees, as well as the millions who may have been injured, suffered a stroke, or something else. Also, we strive to help each and every individual, and even though the majority of the musicians to whom we extend our programs and services to our children and young adults, we do not limit the age of the musicians who could benefit from them.

There are so many disabled people who are desperate to play music with their peers. We can help to make that happen – but we can only do that with the wonderful support of our funders and donors. You.

At the Bill Carroll Foundation, we believe music has the power to heal, connect, and transform lives. Yet too many talented individuals — especially veterans and people with disabilities — are held back by barriers like cost, access, and opportunity.

Your gift of a gently used instrument helps us break those barriers. Every instrument or even dollar you contribute goes directly into creating programs, providing these instruments, and building opportunities for musicians who need a hand up. Here’s how your support makes an impact:

🎵 Instruments & Access – We acquire, repair, and place instruments in the hands of those who otherwise could not afford them. A guitar in a veteran’s hands, or a keyboard for a child with disabilities, can open the door to healing and confidence.

🎵 Education & Empowerment – We run workshops, training programs, and adaptive lessons that empower musicians of all abilities to grow their skills, discover their talents, and shine.

🎵 Community Outreach – Our team brings music into schools, community centers, and under-served neighborhoods, ensuring that everyone has the chance to experience the joy and power of creative expression.

🎵 Fundraising Events – From the Dead Whispers: Haunted Attraction, our Laser Illuminations Winter Show, and any other fundraiser or event we host or are a part of, your donations help cover production costs so that more of the proceeds go right back into programs for the community.

🎵 Sustainability – Part of your gift helps us keep the foundation strong: building our volunteer network, expanding partnerships, and making sure we have the tools to reach even more people each year.

Why It Matters

When you donate, you’re not just giving an instrument — you’re putting empowerment into hands, creating classrooms of possibility, and helping veterans and musicians with disabilities find healing and hope. You’re ensuring that music truly has no limits.

Together, we’re building a movement where creativity is for everyone — and you are part of that story.

💜 Thank you for believing in our mission and joining us in making a difference.
